To help you get the full context about the requester of a specific request you can connect Back to your Hibob account, bringing all relevant employee profile information into Back.
The profile information is not only displayed on the REQUESTER tab of each request but can also be used to target knowledge articles or make workflows even smarter by tailoring them to employees in specific teams or offices or automatically involving the requester's supervisor.
Configuring Hibob
Before you connect Back to Hibob, you need to generate an API key that will be used to fetch the relevant data.
Generate the API key
Navigate to your Hibob page and log in. Click on your initials / photo in the top right corner and choose API Access.
If you haven't generated a token yet, press "Generate token" to create a new one.
Otherwise, use your existing API token.
Make sure that the token has the Full Employee Read scope enabled in order for us to be able to access the needed employee profile information.
Using Service Users
If you prefer to connect to our API using a dedicated Service User, let us know and we'll help you set that up.
Connecting to Hibob
In a new browser window, log into Back and go to the Integrations section.
Select "Connect" in the Hibob row to open the configuration dialog.
Enter the token into the configuration dialog and press "Submit" to enable the connection.
The status will change to "Connected".
Once connected, we will periodically synchronize your employee information from Hibob with Back. This includes information about the employee's role, department, office, supervisor, and start date.
Viewing employee details
You can find the relevant employee information in the Requester tab in the sidebar on the request detail:
Targeting knowledge
The integration also helps you target a specific subgroup of employees when creating knowledge articles.
With our Hibob integration, we are able to understand where the requestors are based, which team they are a member of and whether they are a manager. Based on this information, we are able to suggest knowledge articles that are relevant for a specific employee.
